Splash Remake Starring Jillian Bell Gets Back on Track with New Writer

The gears are turning on a Splash remake. Deadline is reporting that Sarah Rothschild (Netflix's The Sleepover) has signed on to pen the script for a new take on the 1984 film that's been in development for years. The project was first put together in 2016 when it was announced that Channing Tatum and Jillian Bell would be starring in a Splash remake, and at that time, Marja-Lewis Ryan (Liked) was set to write. Bell is still attached to the project, though it appears Tatum is no longer involved.
