Poll: Do you keep auto-rotate enabled on your phone?
Auto-rotation is one of the more long-standing features on smartphones today, allowing phones to automatically shift apps and menus between portrait and landscape orientation as the device is turned accordingly.
Many smartphones include an auto-rotate toggle in the quick settings section of the notification shade (as seen above), allowing you to activate or deactivate auto-rotate at the drop of a hat. But do you keep auto-rotate enabled on your phone? Let us know via the poll at the bottom of the page.
We’re specifically talking about whether you use the system-wide auto-rotate toggle in the notification shade or in the settings menu. So if your phone is only set to auto-rotate when viewing pictures and videos, you can vote “no.”
We’ve also seen recent Android versions and skins include a small rotate icon in the corner of the screen when the device detects that its orientation has changed. Tapping this icon will rotate the screen accordingly. Again, this doesn’t count as using the system-wide auto-rotate toggle seen in the dropdown menu or settings page.
You can give us your vote via the poll below and leave a comment if you’ve got anything more to share.
