LG announced on Monday that it would be shutting its mobile operations down, later confirming to Android Authority that its rollable phone and V60 successor wouldn’t be developed anymore (as you’d expect).

We thought it would be a good idea to pick the best LG smartphones ever made, but we also asked you to vote for your top picks. Here’s what you chose as the top device in LG’s history.

What’s your pick for the best LG phone?

Results

We posted the poll on Monday April 5, and just over 4,100 votes were cast as of writing. It’s clear that two devices were in the running for the best LG smartphone ever, according to readers. The LG V60 (11.87%) and LG G3 (11.72%) were the top picks and separated by less than two tenths of a percentage. That’s a remarkably close race.

We totally expected the V60 to garner plenty of votes, as it’s still fresh in the minds of readers and was the last traditional flagship phone from the Korean manufacturer. But it’s clear that respondents had plenty of love for the LG G3. The company’s 2014 flagship was one of the first widely available devices with a QHD screen, offered cutting-edge laser autofocus tech, and a well-rounded spec sheet in general. This all came together to be a great alternative to the Samsung Galaxy S5 and HTC One M8 at the time.

Rounding out the podium was the LG G2, earning 9.6% of the vote. The LG G4 (7.9%), LG V30 (7.5%), and LG G6 (6.6%) occupied fourth, fifth, and sixth places respectively.

The rest of the phones all earned under 6% of the vote apiece, with the LG V50 (1.7%), LG G Flex (2%), and LG Optimus G (2.2%) being the least popular phones on the list.

  • Wes Veitch: Had the G4, G6, and now the G8X. I’m going to miss LG very much. As an audio engineer who listened to music constantly, I was LG’s market. Headphone jack, quad DAC, dual front-facing stereo speakers. The G6 was my favorite phone I’ve ever owned. All those features, fingerprint reader on the back, durable, IP68 rating. Damn. Poured a glass of whiskey last night.
  • Fuse: LG g8 thinq was a hell of a deal for what you got for the money.. I liked LGs approach to the market, hope they make a comeback someday. About 75% of the innovations in the last 7 years on cell phones you can think LG for
  • Stanley Kubrick: I really liked my G4. I had no issues with it. Can’t remember what replaced it but at that time all the OEM’s were making cool phones with new features. Those days are gone. Same thing happened in the PC/Laptop space. Innovation is cool, but once you hit maturity everything has been done and it all looks the same. Sad really.
  • John Bli: I had a G6 from mid 2017 all the way until last month, when I replaced it with a Pixel 4a. It’s probably the longest I’ve owned a single smartphone, but jeez was it struggling in the past few months.
  • Vivian Tong: I still refuse to throw away my V10. My partner is still using his V20. I use my V40 as a backup phone. I guess this means I need to stock up on V10 and V20 spare batteries.
  • Ahmed AbuBakr: G2 was my proper introduction to LG. Still my favorite with stylish design.
  • JH: I really like my V60. The dual screen case is surprisingly useful. Android 11 update fixed some annoying bugs. It’s not perfect. My Pixel 3XL takes better photos though videos are betting on the V60 IMO. Display is mediocre, but it’s fast, has mostly stock Android 11 experience, and the huge battery gives it great battery life. For the price it’s a hell of a phone.
  • Angel Nuñez: I remember my first LG phone was when I switched carriers. It was the LG V20. It was a great device in my opinion. Good run LG.

Thank you for the votes and comments, we really appreciate them. What are your memories of LG phones? Who do you think can pick up where it left off? Let us know below.
