The best new movie trailers and TV show teasers for upcoming streaming titles

Things heard & seen

This new movie trailer for Amanda Seyfried’s Netflix horror-thriller presents an all too familiar plot — a couple moves to a big old house in a new town only to discover that it’s haunted by a previous tragedy. However, there might be some twist in the tale as the film’s synopsis also teases a “sinister secret” in the couple’s marriage.

The Mitchells vs. The Machines

This upcoming Netflix anime comes from the makers of Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. The new movie trailer shows an eccentric family of four trying to survive a robot apocalypse armed with an orange station wagon from the 90s, a fly-eating pooch, and the blind courage to save the world. All-in-all, this one looks like a fun title to catch with the Brady Bunch.

Shadow and the Bone

Netflix has finally released a full trailer for its long-awaited fantasy series based on Leigh Bardugo’s bestselling Grishaverse novels. The latest clip introduces us to Alina Starkov (Jessie Mei Li), the summoner of the sun. With her extraordinary powers, we see her destroying dragons, fighting monstrous creatures, and joining an elite army of magical soldiers known as Grisha. The stage is set for some blood-thumping action. We really hope the series doesn’t end up being disappointing after such a grand precursor.

The Handmaid’s Tale Season 4

If you’ve been following Hulu‘s The Handmaid’s Tale, you would know that the hit show is prepping for a fourth installment this April. We got a new trailer for the dystopian thriller this week, and it’s what we’ve all been waiting for since the very beginning of the series — June Osborne and the handmaids fighting back against Gilead. The rebellion is here and the catharsis is near. Check out the trailer below.

Wahl Street

Ever wanted to watch a whole docuseries on Mark Wahlberg? Well, HBO Max is granting your wish. The streaming service introduced the Wahl Street trailer this week, giving us a sneak peek into the life of the Hollywood heavyweight. By the looks of it, the series is a smart marketing plug for Wahlberg’s various businesses, with a dash of realism added to the mix. Nevertheless, it looks interesting and many will watch it just to catch Wahlberg behind the silver screen.

The Suicide Squad

James Gunn released another new trailer for The Suicide Squad this week and some are calling it better than the last one. This green-band version also features a whole lot of new footage, including a generous shot of the Polka-Dot Man in action. Check it out below and tell us what you think.
